Hiring – Speech Language Pathologists in Toronto and Niagara
We are currently looking for skilled Speech Language Pathologists to join our team in the GTA and Niagara region.
Our SLP focus is in the areas of traumatic and acquired neurological injuries with adults and children. Our therapists perform clinical work focusing on treatment of the injured clients in their homes, school or work settings. We also provide treatment services to children within the school system.
Our strong team of clinicians is hand-picked and includes veterans from some of the Province’s top rehabilitation and trauma centres.
At FunctionAbility, we appreciate the importance of balancing work and family priorities. As a result, while you will be assigned a case load, its scheduling will be completely up to you hence providing for ample flexibility.
The successful candidates should possess the following traits:
- Motivated self starter with superior technical, verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong analytical ability;
- Computer skills (i.e. ability to work in MS Word and Outlook);
- Great interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with different personality types;
- Work well both independently and as part of a group;
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
When part of our team, the successful candidate will undertake the following:
- Provide individual assessment and evidence-based treatment for cognitive-communication/language disorders in adults and children post MVA
- Assist clients in establishing and meeting meaningful goals within the home and community setting
- Provide counselling and education for individuals, families, educators, and other persons in the community.
- Liaise with various community partners and rehab professionals to facilitate client goals and independence.
- In the school system, provide assessment and evidence-based treatment for fluency, voice, articulation, and language difficulties.
Key Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario(CASLPO)
- Valid driver’s license and a willing to travel
- Experience completing language/cognitive-communication assessments and planning and implementing therapy activities
