Qualifications for Success 

• University degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Occupational Therapists (COTO).
• Canadian Certified Life Care Planner (CCLCP) or Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) designation.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Experience with CAT assessments and/or C-CAT certification is an asset.

What Is a Typical Day for an FA Life Care Planner Occupational Therapist?

• Develop and prepare future cost-of-care reports and/or medical-legal reports.
• Conduct client interviews and review medical records to establish life care plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, health professionals, and community partners.
• Work with individuals who have acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, chronic pain, or other health problems requiring future care.
• Consult with personal injury lawyers, auto insurers, and insurance professionals.
